Yacht
Yacht Dice
Five dice, three rolls, twelve boxes.
The dice sheet everyone has played some version of. Roll five dice up to three times, keep the ones you like, and write the hand into one of twelve boxes — each usable exactly once. The squeeze is that a box you fill badly is gone for good, so a mediocre hand often costs you your best remaining slot.

- On your turn, roll all five dice. You may then keep any of them and re-roll the rest, twice more — three throws in all.
- Write the hand into one of your twelve boxes. Each box is used exactly once, and you may stop and score after any throw — you do not have to use all three.
- The six upper boxes count only their own number: the “fives” box scores five points per five you rolled. If those six add up to 63 or more you get a 35-point bonus.
- The six lower boxes are the combinations: Choice takes the whole hand, Four of a Kind and Full House also score the total of all five dice, the small straight is a flat 15, the large one 30, and five alike — a Yacht — is 50.
- If the hand fits nothing you want, you must still write it somewhere, even as a zero. After twelve rounds every box is full and the highest total wins.
Como ganhar
After twelve rounds every box on every sheet is filled. Add the upper section, add the 35-point bonus if it reached 63, add the lower section, and the highest total wins. A perfect sheet is 323. Ties are possible and are not broken — two identical sheets really are a draw.
Dicas
- Chase the 63 bonus early. Three of each number is exactly the pace it needs, so a four-of-a-number roll banks you a spare pip for a later shortfall.
- Keep the ones box as your dump. Scratching a zero there costs at most five points, while scratching the large straight or Yacht throws away thirty or fifty.
Perguntas frequentes
- Do I need to install anything, or pay?
- No. The sheet on this page runs in the browser, free, with no sign-up, and everyone plays on the same phone rather than joining an online room.
- How is this different from the famous branded dice game?
- They are cousins, and the scoring genuinely differs. Yacht is the older game: twelve boxes, no three-of-a-kind, the small straight pays a flat 15 and the large one 30, and there is no bonus for rolling a second Yacht. Yahtzee — a registered trademark of Hasbro, and not what this is — has thirteen boxes, pays 30 and 40 for the straights, and adds joker rules. Both use five dice, three throws and the 63-for-35 upper bonus.
- What exactly is the 35-point bonus?
- It is for the six upper boxes only. Add them up when the sheet is full: 63 or more and you get 35 extra points, 62 and you get nothing. Three of each number comes to exactly 63, which is why the board keeps showing how many pips you still need.
- Do I have to score every turn, even with a useless hand?
- Yes. Every turn ends with a box being filled, and a box you cannot fill honestly takes a zero. Choosing which box to sacrifice is most of the game — it is why the ones box is worth keeping open, and why a Yacht scratched to a zero hurts for the rest of the sheet.
