玩法

  1. Play on a 9x9 shogi board, with each side lining up all 9 of their pieces across their own front row.
  2. Pieces move like a rook — any number of empty squares horizontally or vertically, but never over another piece, and never diagonally.
  3. Trap one or more of your opponent's pieces in a straight line between two of your own pieces, and everything sandwiched is captured.
  4. Moving your own piece into a spot between two enemy pieces is safe — a capture only happens on the move that creates the sandwich.
  5. The match is won by reducing the opponent to a set number of remaining pieces, or by meeting whatever line-up condition the rule set in play uses — the exact target varies by rule set.

如何獲勝

You win by reducing your opponent's pieces to the target count that rule set uses, or by meeting whatever alternate line-up condition is in play — the exact target varies between rule sets.

常見問題

How is the winner decided?
In this style of shogi-piece sandwiching game (known as Hasami Shogi), the house rules commonly declare a win once you've captured a set number of the opponent's pieces (often 5), though some rules instead have you win by lining up a set number of your own pieces along a row in the opponent's territory. It's worth confirming which rules you're playing under before the match starts.
Can a piece move anywhere on the board?
Pieces move like a rook — any distance horizontally or vertically — but they can't jump over other pieces and can't move diagonally.
