The game automatically runs a short countdown, and each player adds one card face-up onto a stockpile to create a new top card, then play resumes. Whoever still has a draw pile plays its top card; whoever has run out plays from their tableau instead (as long as they still have tableau cards, they can always continue).

The 52 cards split by color — one player takes all 26 red cards (♥♦), the other takes all 26 black cards (♠♣).
Each player's 26 cards are dealt into 4 face-up tableau cards, 1 center stockpile card, and a 21-card draw pile (your hand).
After a countdown, both center stockpiles flip face-up and play starts at the same time for both players.
From your 4 tableau cards, play any card whose number is one higher or lower than the top card of a center stockpile.
Every time you play a card, draw one from your pile to refill your tableau back to 4 (once your pile runs out, there's no more refilling and your tableau shrinks).
It's first-come, first-served — keep this up, and whoever empties both their hand and tableau first wins.

Whoever empties both their hand (draw pile) and tableau first wins. The shared center stockpiles don't count toward the win. In the rare case both players hit zero at the same moment, it's a draw.
